When drawing up the planning of highly skilled resources, such as in research and development, functional team leaders and project managers need to be able to anticipate capacity roadblocks long ahead. Many project portfolio management (PPM) processes and systems such as Primavera, Sciforma, Clarizen, Planisware and MS Project Server are tough to setup and seem not to be sustainable. This is not because these software solutions are bad. Here are the true reasons:
